Lagos GAC Backs Hamzat, Pays For Nomination Form


The Lagos Governance Advisory Council (GAC) on Tuesday unanimously endorsed the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, as its consensus candidate for the forthcoming 2027 governorship election in the state.

The endorsement was announced on behalf of the council by elder statesman, Tajudeen Olusi, during a meeting held at Lagos House, Marina.

According to the GAC, members of the influential political body not only adopted Hamzat as their preferred candidate but also took the additional step of paying for his nomination form.

GAC remains a key decision-making body within the All Progressives Congress in Lagos state who shapes candidate selection and party direction.
