2027: APC Will Reclaim Bauchi From PDP

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senator representing Bauchi South Senatorial District, Shehu Buba, has expressed confidence that the party will reclaim the State from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 governorship election.

Buba, who is seeking the APC governorship ticket, spoke to journalists shortly after obtaining his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms in Abuja on Tuesday.

The lawmaker, who currently represents Bauchi South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, said his decision to personally pick the forms underscores his seriousness and readiness for the contest.

“I thank God for allowing us to witness another election cycle. As you can see, I am physically present here to obtain my nomination forms, which I have now done,” he said.

He also called on other aspirants to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the party to participate in the democratic process.

Buba, a first-term senator with a growing political profile in Bauchi State, is widely regarded as one of the prominent APC figures in the state, with strong grassroots support across the southern zone.

On his chances against the ruling PDP in Bauchi, the senator expressed optimism that the APC would emerge victorious, citing what he described as the failure of the current administration in the state.

“We stand a very good chance of taking over Bauchi from the ruling PDP. I am optimistic because Bauchi is an APC state, and you can attest to that,” he said.

“The PDP government has failed the people of Bauchi. As the first aspirant to obtain the form, you can be assured that if I secure the party’s ticket, we will send the PDP out.”

Buba maintained that his ambition is driven by a desire to reposition the state and deliver effective governance to the people.
