President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Saturday won the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Primary in Edo State.
President Tinubu scored 131,096 (One Hundred and Thirty-One Thousand, Ninety-Six) votes to defeat his opponent, Mr Stanley Osifo, who got only one vote.
Speaking, the Edo State Returning Officer and Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, said the election was peaceful across the state, with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu securing the highest number of votes in the election, which was held simultaneously across the 36 states of the federation.
He said, “The election was peacefully conducted across Edo State. I participated in the election myself as I voted in my ward, and the results have been presented as received from all 192 wards in the state. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu secured 131,096 votes.”
The collation officers from the 18 local government areas of Edo State were at the APC Secretariat, Ikpopan, in GRA, to present the results scored by the candidates in the primary election.
Present at the coalition centres were Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon Dennis Idahosa; Senator representing Edo North and former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, the Edo State APC Chairman, Emperor Jarrett Tenebe, among others.
