The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has finally ratified former President Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
Saturday Telegraph reports that the ratification was done through a voice vote, after a motion by the Chairman of the PDP Chairmen Forum, Tony Aziegbemi, to that effect.
Jonathan was, however, absent from the less than 10-minute national convention by the Kabiru Tanimu Turaki-led faction of the party, which was held at No 11 Owo Close, Garki, after the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, barred event centre owners and hotels from allowing their facilities to be used by the faction.
It was gathered that the facility which was to be used by the Turaki faction, was sealed by security operatives in the early hours of the day.
