Former Super Eagles striker, Nwankwo Kanu, has taken to his social media page to celebrate Arsenal following the club’s return to the summit of English football after clinching the 2025/26 Premier League (EPL) title.
New Telegraph had earlier reported that Arsenal were officially crowned champions on Tuesday night after Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw away to AFC Bournemouth. This result confirmed the Gunners as league winners with one game left to play.
Heading into City’s fixture, Arsenal had already placed themselves in a commanding position after opening a two-point gap at the top of the table following their Matchday 37 outing on Monday.
City’s failure to secure victory meant Mikel Arteta’s side moved four points clear ahead of the final round of matches.

The North London side will now lift the Premier League trophy on Sunday at Selhurst Park, ending a title drought stretching back to the famous unbeaten 2003/04 campaign.
Kanu was part of that legendary “Invincibles” squad, which went through the entire league season without suffering a defeat. During the historic campaign, the Nigerian forward made 10 league appearances, scoring once and contributing four assists.
The former Nigerian international joined Arsenal in 1999 and went on to enjoy a successful spell at Highbury, registering 44 goals and 38 assists in 197 appearances before departing the club in 2004.
Reacting to Arsenal’s latest success, Kanu shared his excitement on X while posting a throwback image of himself with the Premier League trophy.
“Arsenal forever. The Gunners worked so hard for this. Difficult, but they fought. Very well deserved. Come on, you Gunners,” he wrote.
After his exit from Arsenal, Kanu continued his Premier League career with West Bromwich Albion and later Portsmouth.
Over the course of his time in England’s top flight, the Nigerian icon amassed 273 Premier League appearances, scoring 54 goals and recording 29 assists.
Kanu remains one of Nigeria’s most experienced players in Premier League history, ranking behind only Alex Iwobi and Shola Ameobi in all-time appearances by Nigerian players in the competition.
