Jibrin Congratulates Tinubu On APC Presidential Primary Victory


Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin has congratulated President Bola Tinubu following his emergence as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 general election.

In a statement issued after the President obtained his certificateof return and party’s flag on Sunday, Barau described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and successful across wards, local government areas and states nationwide.

The Deputy Senate President, who led the primary exercise in Kabo Ward, Kabo Local Government Area of Kano State, said the outcome of the election reflected the confidence and trust party members across the country continue to place in President Tinubu’s leadership.

According to the results announced at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, Tinubu secured 10,999,162 votes to defeat his lone challenger, Stanley Osifo, who polled 16,503 votes.

Barau said the overwhelming victory was a clear affirmation of the support President Tinubu enjoys within the APC across Nigeria’s 774 local government areas.

He added that the outcome of the primary election signals what to expect in the January 16, 2027 presidential election, expressing confidence that President Tinubu and the APC would secure victory at the polls.

The Deputy Senate President also congratulated the president on what he described as a resounding victory, and expressed optimism about Tinubu’s chances of securing a second term in office.
