I Quit Dancing To Focus On Music For Higher Income- Asake


Nigerian Afrobeats artiste, Ololade Ahmed, popularly known as Asake, has revealed that he quit dancing professionally because he did not earn as much income as he wanted, prompting a full shift to music.

Speaking in an interview with African Voices, the Grammy-nominated singer said he still enjoys dancing and continues to do it, but chose to focus on music for financial reasons.

According to him, professional dancing could not deliver the earnings he was targeting.

“I love dancing so much, I can’t do without dancing, but the truth is I had to leave it because of my love for money, because I know the type of money I want dancing can’t give me,” Asake said.

Before his music career, Asake was known for his dancing and performance with different troupes.

He later transitioned to music and released songs, including “Remember,” becoming one of the prominent names in the industry.

Asake has also stated that his respect and loyalty to former label boss Olamide remain unchanged.
