A former chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and 2027 presidential aspirant, Gbenga Hashim, has vowed to mount a pro-democracy front to resist any attempt to impose a one-party system in Nigeria.
Hashim made this declaration after a strategic meeting with the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, as part of ongoing consultations with key stakeholders on safeguarding the country’s democratic structure.
According to Hashim, Falana is a long-time ally, noting that their relationship spans more than four decades, built on shared involvement in activism and advocacy for justice and democratic governance.
“We resolved to sustain the multi-party structure of Nigeria’s democracy and resist one-party rule,” Hashim said.
