The Federal Government has thrown its weight behind Katsina State’s push for tech-driven education, declaring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was “strongly committed” to supporting subnational initiatives that expand access and improve quality.

Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Alausa, made this known during the commissioning of the Katsina State Smart Model Secondary School in Radda, describing the project as a “bold milestone” in Nigeria’s drive toward a future-ready education system.

He said: “This Smart School is more than just in frastructure. It is a symbol of innovation, opportunity, and a strategic investment in human capital to prepare our students for a technology-driven global economy.”

He commended Governor Dikko Umaru Radda for what he called “visionary leadership” under the state’s Build-Your-Future Blueprint, noting that Katsina’s efforts in expanding access, upgrading infrastructure, and strengthening teacher capacity reflect a deep commitment to sustainable development.

Alausa in a statement signed by his Special Adviser Media and Communications, Ikharo Attah and made available to journalists yesterday in Abuja, stressed that the initiative aligns with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and ongoing reforms under the Nigerian Education Sector Renewal Initiative, which prioritises STEMM, Technical and Vocational Education and Training, inclusive learning, and digital governance.
