Activist Petitions Trump, Demands Abrogation Of Islamic Sharia Law In Nigeria

The Director-General of the Centre for Justice on Religious and Ethnicity in Nigeria, Rev. Kallamu Dikwa, says he supports the United States’ insistence on the abrogation of Islamic Sharia law from the Nigerian Constitution.

In a petition to President Donald Trump, he blamed political Islamic Sharia Law for the creation of the Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters wreaking havoc in Nigeria.

Dikwa, who was reacting to a viral video of a press conference addressed by the Zamfara State Committee of Islamic Shari’a Jihadist Defenders, alleged that professor drafted the Sharia constitution and handed it to the late former Head of State Gen. Sani Abacha.

He said: “President Olusegun Obasanjo didn’t bother to correct the anomalies Jihadist constitution, thinking that nothing would happen.

“Unknown to him that the Northern Nigerian Traditional Rulers, Islamic scholars and political leaders were preparing to take over the country for Islam by using Sharia jihad in our country’s Constitution.”

The group added: “We are in total support of the United States on abrogation of Islamic Sharia jihad in the Nigerian 1999 Constitution (as amended).”
