Enugu Celebrates Peter Eze For Service, Impact On Birthday


Family, friends, and associates in Enugu State and beyond are celebrating Honourable Peter Ogbonna Eze, Federal Character Commissioner representing Enugu State, as he marks his birthday today.

Eze, who was sworn in by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a member of the Federal Character Commission, has drawn attention for his work promoting fairness, equity, and development in public service.

Since assuming office, he has served as Chairman of the Committee on Works, Transport and Aviation. In that role, he has pushed policies on federal character balance in recruitment and promotion, infrastructure development, connectivity, and institutional efficiency.

Colleagues at the commission describe him as a voice of reason and strategic direction in policy discussions. Beyond Abuja, Eze is known in his home state for projects aimed at improving access and livelihoods.

Residents of Aji, Isiugwu, Ufodo, and other communities in Igbo Eze North point to a 2.5-kilometer road he facilitated as an example of his focus on rural connectivity and commerce.

Through educational support, youth empowerment, scholarships, job facilitation, and human capital development initiatives, he has invested in people as well as projects, according to associates.

Eze’s academic background includes a Second Class Upper degree in Economics from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and studies in Public Administration at the University of International Business and Economics.

His career spans media, private enterprise, and diplomacy. He has worked with The Sun Publishing and New Telegraph, and served at Bullion Standard Nigeria Limited.

In Beijing, through the Chinese CEO Group, he contributed to Nigeria–China relations and received the ChinaNigeria Friendship Award for his role in strengthening bilateral ties.
