Dickson To Inaugurate NDC Selection C’ttee Ahead Of 2027 Polls


The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) will on Monday, May 25, inaugurate its Selection Committee following the completion of screening exercises for governorship, National Assembly and state Houses of Assembly aspirants ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the party said the inauguration ceremony would take place at the NDC National Secretariat.

According to the press statement, the committee was constituted to reinforce the party’s commitment to transparency, internal democracy and credible candidate selection processes.

The committee is mandated to review and scrutinise reports and recommendations submitted by the National Screening Committee and the State Houses of Assembly Screening Committees before making decisions on the outcomes of all aspirants screened for various elective positions.

The 21-member committee will be chaired by the NDC National Chairman, Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe.

The party explained that the initiative was conceived by the NDC National Leader, Henry Seriake Dickson, in collaboration with recommendations from the party’s National Working Committee as part of preparations for the upcoming elections.

According to the statement, the objective is to ensure the party presents “the most formidable candidate for every position to be contested in the general election.”

Dickson is expected to formally inaugurate the committee at 4:00 pm during the ceremony at the party’s national headquarters.
