The Central Association of Nigerians in the United Kingdom (CANUK) has described the commencement of the tenure of the new Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Ambassador Aminu Muhammad Dalhatu, as a significant step towards strengthening ties between Nigeria and the UK.
The Chairman of the Association, Dr Ily Maisanda, said this while reacting to the formal presentation of Letters of Commission by the Ambassador to His Majesty King Charles III at St James’s Palace, on his official resumption as Nigeria’s full diplomatic representative in the UK.
He explained that the bond will solidify the relationship between the two countries in the areas of diplomacy, trade, education, investment, culture and diaspora engagement.
Dr Maisanda expressed excitement about the appointment, describing him as a very experienced and dedicated government representative who will advance bilateral trade.
He, therefore, extended the Association’s hand of friendship to the High Commission in a bid to support the community’s welfare and promotion of stronger people-to-people engagements.
“We, hereby, congratulate His Excellency Ambassador Aminu Muhammad Dalhatu on the formal commencement of his tenure as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
