The Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has pledged to sustain collaboration with aviation reporters and support the Abuja Transportation and Aviation Correspondents Association (ATACA).
The Permanent Secretary Mahmud Adam Kambari, gave the pledge in Abuja on Monday when members of ATACA paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
He said his assumption of office would not alter the longstanding partnership between the ministry and the association.
The Permanent Secretary promised to strengthen the existing relationship and ensure the media continue to play their role in promoting activities in the aviation sector.
He urged ATACA members to sustain the “spirit of unity, cooperation, and professionalism” that has distinguished the association over the years.
Kambari commended the association for the visibility and media support it has given to the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.
He said Keyamo remained committed to transforming Nigeria’s aviation sector through strategic reforms and innovative policies.
The Permanent Secretary disclosed that plans were underway to communicate the ministry’s programmes, policies and achievements through a ministerial press briefing in the near future.
He assured ATACA that the Ministry would give due consideration to its request for support towards the association’s Annual Conference scheduled for September 2026.
Kambari pledged his “maximum support and cooperation” in advancing the objectives of the association.
He reiterated that his office remains open to engagement, adding that members could channel concerns through the Director of Press and Public Affairs.
Earlier, ATACA Chairman, Ejike Omeje thanked Kambari for receiving the association and explained that it comprises over 40 correspondents covering transportation and aviation.
