The Adamawa State Universal Basic Education Board (ADSUBEB) has applauded the Nigerian Navy for providing a Special Intervention Quick Impact Project at Central Primary School, Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area of the State.
The Executive Chairman of ADSUBEB, Dr Murtala Babayi, who received a delegation from the Nigerian Navy, described the initiative as a significant contribution to the improvement of basic education in Adamawa State.
Dr Murtala Babayi was represented by a Permanent Member 1 of the Board, Mr Adiel Kurda, during the commissioning and official handover of the six renovated classroom blocks and newly constructed toilet facilities in Mayo-Belwa Local Government Area.
The Executive Chairman described the intervention as more than just the provision of infrastructure, noting that it represents partnership, patriotism, and commitment to the future of children in the state.
He acknowledged the Nigerian Navy’s dedication not only to national security but also to community development and human capital advancement through educational support initiatives.
According to him, the renovated classrooms and sanitation facilities will enhance the teaching and learning environment, improve hygiene among pupils, and contribute to better enrolment, retention, and academic performance.
He noted that the Board, on behalf of the government and people of Adamawa State, expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Navy and all officers involved in the successful execution of the project.
Community leaders, parents, teachers, and members of the School-Based Management Committee (SBMC) were also commended for their cooperation during the implementation of the project and urged the community to safeguard and maintain the facilities effectively.
Another Permanent member of the Board, Dr Aliyu Sa’ad, presented a letter of appreciation to Rear Admiral A. Baba-Inna on behalf of the Board in recognition of the Navy’s intervention and support to the school and host community.
Responding, Rear Admiral Baba -Inna thanked the Adamawa State Government, ADSUBEB for providing an enabling environment for the Navy to excel and appealed for the proper utilisation of the infrastructure.
The event featured the commissioning and inspection of the completed projects, goodwill messages from dignitaries, and appreciation from members of the community.
