Nasboi Criticises Bloggers Over Focus On Irrelevant Stories

Nigerian singer and content creator, Nasiru Bolaji, widely known as Nasboi has called out Nigerian bloggers for what he described as selective coverage of issues on social media.

According to him, despite frequently speaking about insecurity in Nigeria on X, many blogs choose to overlook those posts while promoting less important contents from his page.

The entertainer said this pattern of reporting often gives the public the impression that he is unconcerned about serious national matters.

He also accused bloggers of shifting attention away from pressing issues by highlighting sensational stories instead.

Nasboi referenced discussions surrounding the marriage of media personality, Frank Edoho as an example of the type of stories that receive widespread attention online, while more critical conversations are ignored.

He said on Instagram: “There is no celebrity in Nigeria that talks about insecurity in our country more than me. You can check it on Twitter. But whenever I speak about it and also tweet normal things, the only tweets Nigerian bloggers pick are the random ones, while they ignore the important tweets.

“When they post those random tweets, people now think I’m insensitive. Again, but what is our business with the issue between Frank Edoho’s marriage. What concerns us about it? Nigerian bloggers will amplify those kinds of stories instead. When it comes to distracting the people, most bloggers do it. How many times have they amplified serious issues?”
