…as APC Intensifies Grassroots Campaign
A former governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Bayelsa State, Engr. Udengs Eradiri has declared that the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 is “Not negotiable” as he led a door-to-door campaign in support of the President during the APC presidential primary election in his ward.
Eradiri, who represented the Door-to-Door Campaign initiative founded by High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, addressed APC members at Ward 10, Agudama-Ekpetiama in Yenagoa Local Government Area.
He stated that all efforts by opposition parties to prevent Tinubu’s return to office would fail.
According to him, the President’s bold economic reforms have begun to yield positive results, with benefits gradually reaching the grassroots.
Eradiri, a former President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, said Tinubu deserves another term to fully implement his policies and lay a lasting foundation for national prosperity.
“In the Door-to-Door Campaign, we firmly believe that the reelection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not negotiable. Everything the opposition is doing against this President is dead on arrival,” he said.
He noted that the turnout of party members during the presidential primary election reflected the President’s popularity at the grassroots and demonstrated the APC’s internal democratic process.
Eradiri added that from the party’s earlier primaries to the presidential primary poll, the APC had shown its preparedness for leadership and determination to secure victory in the 2027 general election.
The former Bayelsa Commissioner for Youth and later Environment said the APC was not underestimating the strength of opposition parties, but insisted the party remained confident of victory.
He specifically dismissed the chances of opposition parties, including the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying none of their presidential aspirants could defeat Tinubu.
“President Tinubu is tested and trusted. He has shown the capacity and competence to take tough decisions necessary to turn around the fortunes of the country,” Eradiri said.
He further noted that support for the President was growing because many Nigerians believed in his leadership despite criticism from political opponents.
“Today is a testimony to the good work the President is doing. Even though we have many qualified and competent persons in the party, none decided to challenge him because they believe he is doing well and deserves a second term,” he added.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the APC in Yenagoa Local Government Area, Zikenah Tunks Coker, expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the 2027 elections.
He said that although opposition parties remain part of a democratic system, APC members were committed to ensuring victory for the party in Bayelsa State and Yenagoa Local Government Area.
“We have an opposition; it is not a one-party system. But it is our duty as supporters of APC to ensure that the party emerges victorious in Bayelsa State and Yenagoa Local Government,” Coker said.
