Tinubu Vows Safer Nigeria, Renewed Prosperity

President Bola Tinubu has reassured Nigerians of his administration’s commitment to building a peaceful and secure nation where citizens can live freely, worship without fear and pursue their aspirations in safety.

In his 2026 Eid-el-Kabir message to Muslim faithful across the country and around the world, the President said his government would continue to prioritise investments in security, infrastructure, agriculture and human capital development to strengthen national growth and stability.

“My administration remains committed to building a Nigeria where all citizens can live in peace, worship freely, and pursue their dreams without fear,” Tinubu assured.

He said the government remains focused on creating opportunities for citizens while sustaining efforts to improve security across the country.

The President also urged Muslim faithful to use the Eid-el-Kabir celebration as an opportunity to pray for peace, national unity and wisdom for leaders at all levels.

“Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law,” he said.

Tinubu further encouraged Nigerians to support the less privileged and strengthen bonds of unity and brotherhood during the festive period.

“Let us also reach out to the less privileged, share with our neighbours, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that unite us as one people,” he added.

Reflecting on the significance of Eid-el-Kabir, the President described the festival as a symbol of faith, sacrifice and obedience, inspired by the example of Prophet Ibrahim.

According to him, the season serves as a reminder of the values of compassion, selflessness and national unity regardless of ethnic, religious or social differences.

Tinubu acknowledged that ongoing reforms introduced by his administration had been difficult but insisted they were necessary steps toward rebuilding the country and securing long-term prosperity.

He expressed optimism that the reforms were already producing positive outcomes, including improved economic stability and stronger investor confidence.

“The walk through the dark tunnel is over, and the light is here,” the President said.

While admitting that insecurity remained a challenge in some parts of the country, including attacks by terrorists and bandits, Tinubu assured Nigerians that the government would continue intensifying efforts to restore peace and stability nationwide.

“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” he stated.

The President wished Muslims and all Nigerians a peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration, praying for continued peace, blessings and progress for the country.
