Manchester City FC has officially confirmed the appointment of Enzo Maresca as the club’s new head coach, marking the beginning of a new chapter at the Etihad Stadium following the departure of legendary manager Pep Guardiola.
The Premier League champions announced on Tuesday that Maresca has signed a long-term contract running until June 2029, with the 45-year-old set to take immediate charge of first-team affairs and preparations for the upcoming season.
Maresca returns to Manchester City after previously serving as part of Guardiola’s coaching staff during the club’s historic treble-winning campaign.

Guardiola leaves behind one of the most successful managerial legacies in football history after transforming Manchester City into a dominant force both domestically and in Europe. During his tenure, City won multiple Premier League titles, domestic cups and the UEFA Champions League while redefining modern attacking football.
Maresca now faces the difficult task of sustaining that success while establishing his own identity in one of football’s most demanding jobs.
