Tech awards platform targets Africa’s emerging innovators

The CIO & C-Suite Awards Africa has opened nominations for its seventh annual edition, inviting submissions from technology and business executives across 15 African countries.

A statement from the organisers stated that the nominations for the 2026 edition would run from May 1 to June 30, covering sectors including fintech, e-commerce, healthtech, agritech, cleantech, artificial intelligence, education, media, telecommunications, and technology services.

The awards platform, launched in 2020, recognises executives and organisations driving digital transformation and technology leadership across Africa.

Eligible countries for this year’s nominations include Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Ghana, Rwanda, Togo, Tunisia, Egypt, Angola, Morocco, Senegal, South Africa, Zambia, Cameroon, and Côte d’Ivoire.

Speaking on the awards, the Convener of the CIO & C-Suite Awards Africa, Abiola Laseinde, said the initiative was designed to recognise impact within Africa’s technology ecosystem.

“These awards belong to the African tech community. We are merely the custodians.

Every nomination is a story of impact, and every honoree is proof of what this continent is capable of,” Laseinde said.

The organisers said this year’s edition would focus on leaders driving transformation across sectors considered critical to Africa’s digital and economic development.

Commenting on the growth of the awards platform since its inception, the Chairman, Oluwakayode Adigun, said participation and regional reach had expanded steadily over the years.

“From a bold idea launched in a period of global uncertainty, the Awards have grown into one of the continent’s most respected platforms for recognising leadership in technology and enterprise. Each edition has expanded not only in reach, but in depth — reflecting a stronger, more connected African digital ecosystem and the extraordinary leaders driving it forward,” Adigun said.

The organisers said additional information on the nomination process is available on the awards platform’s official website.
