The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), has inaugurated a 300MVA 330/132kV power transformer at its Katampe 330/132/33kV Transmission Substation, Abuja.
The power infrastructure according to Ndidi Mbah, the company’s General Manager, Public Affairs, was commissioned on May 24. Mbah said: “With the commissioning of the new 300MVA power transformer, the substation’s capacity has increased from 450MVA to 750MVA.
“The upgrade means TCN now has more power available at Katampe Substation for Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) to offtake for onward distribution to consumers in Abuja and environs.”
She quoted the General Manager (Transmission), Abuja Region, Engr. Musa Shuaib as saying during the commissioning ceremony that, “The installation and commissioning of the transformer underscores TCN’s commitment to the continuous expansion of the transmission network.
