Vice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday led political leaders and other dignitaries to the wedding fatiha of three children and a cousin of Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum in Maiduguri, the state capital.

The wedding fatiha turned out to be a high-profile social event, as the Vice President arrived at the marriage ceremony in the company of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nentawe Yilwatda, governors, members of the National Assembly, serving ministers, former governors and their deputies.

Serving as the Waliyi for Aisha Babagana Zulum, Shettima gave the daughter of Governor Zulum in marriage to the son of the deputy governor of Yobe State, Mohammed Idi Barde.

Also tying the knot were Umar Babagana Zulum, who is married to Fatima Azzaki Jidda; Mamman Babagana Zulum, who is married to Yagana Mustapha Busuguma; and Abba Abubakar Umara, who wedded Aisha Ibrahim Musa.

According to his spokesman, Stanley Nkwocha, Shettima prayed to Almighty Allah to guide the newlywedded couples, just as he counselled them on mutual respect and patience, as they build their new homes.
