The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has announced the arrest of 50 suspects linked to terrorism, kidnapping, and armed robbery across the country.
At a press briefing held on Monday, April 13, at the Force Intelligence Department-Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) headquarters in Abuja, police revealed the recovery of a cache of weapons, including an anti-aircraft launcher and multiple rifles.
The operations, carried out by the FID-IRT, form part of efforts targeting criminal networks threatening national security.
According to a press statement by the police, from January 2026 to date, operatives have dismantled several syndicates and recovered 17 rifles, an anti-aircraft launcher, 111 rounds of live ammunition, 17 cartridges, communication devices, magazines, mobile phones, and a vehicle used in criminal activities.

Additionally, other notable successes recorded was the dismantling of a 33-member gang linked to terrorism, cattle rustling, and the attack on a Christ Apostolic Church in Kwara State.
The police also apprehended suspects connected to the killing of three officers attached to the Donga Divisional Headquarters in Taraba State, describing the arrests as a step toward justice for fallen personnel.
In the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and its surrounding areas, operatives arrested criminal groups involved in “one-chance” abductions, car burglaries, and the operation of fake checkpoints which led to the recovery of stolen property and operational tools.
In a related operation, the men of the police force arrested 25-year-old Nasiru Ibrahim in the Igumale area of Benue State with an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, and ammunition.
Investigations revealed links to a suspected bandit identified as Janari, who allegedly supplied the weapon.
Authorities have noted that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspect and dismantle the wider network.
