Coscharis Group Pledges Sustainable Value to Stakeholders

The Coscharis Group has reaffirmed its commitment to delivering long-term value to stakeholders across its diverse business portfolio, in a renewed push to strengthen its market position and deepen customer confidence.

The Group Chairman, Cosmas Maduka, stated this at an annual strategy retreat held in Lagos recently.

This was contained in a statement made available to The PUNCH by the General Manager of Marketing and Corporate Communications of the company, Abiola Babarinde.

The retreat, which brought together members of the Board of Directors from the group’s companies across the globe, served as a platform to assess performance, refine strategies, and set the tone for the years ahead.

Maduka said that for a conglomerate with footprints in automotive, logistics, information technology, agro-allied, and real estate, among others, growth must be intentional, sustainable, and globally competitive.

The Group Chairman challenged business leaders within the organisation to move beyond complacency and embrace forward-thinking strategies that will secure the group’s long-term future.

He said, “We cannot afford to be comfortable with our present historical growth across all our businesses but to challenge ourselves to achieve our full potential and capacity that must deliver futuristic value propositions for our customers that will secure their loyalty that will be sustainable over the years.”

Maduka stressed the need for adaptability in a rapidly evolving global economy, urging leaders to rethink traditional approaches and invest in innovation and human capacity.

He said, “We must be dynamic in our approach. We must be innovative. We must acquire new skills to show capacities and capabilities to remain relevant in delivering the value chain to our numerous stakeholders. Coscharis must continue to take its right position to think beyond Nigeria and build globally relevant solutions leveraging the pedigree we have built over the decades.

“When a company like Coscharis talks about sustainability, it reassures us. It means they are thinking long-term, and that reflects on everyone in the value chain.”

Aside from internal deliberations, the retreat also featured expert-led sessions aimed at equipping the board with insights into emerging economic and business realities.

Experts including Ekundayo Mesagan of Pan Atlantic University, Chidi Okoro of Lagos Business School, and Ted Theodore of ISCHUS Management Consultancy provided practical frameworks for strengthening execution and leadership across the group.

Similarly, governance specialists Mike Ikpoki and Andrew Esemezie of African Context Advisory Partners guided discussions on evolving boardroom expectations and institutional maturity, reinforcing the importance of accountability and structure in sustaining growth.

Also, the Deputy Group Managing Director, Fred Amobi, emphasised the need to translate strategy into action, noting that the true impact of the gathering would be measured by execution.

“As an entity, we should now equip and position our group of Companies to be proactive in shaping the future of our deliverables to our customers to remain relevant to their needs and satisfaction, and this can only be effectively achieved if our tactical execution of our strategies is on point for the future,” he said.
