Osun West Senatorial Aspirant Reiterates Commitment To APC

Canvasses support for Tinubu, AMBO

The leading aspirant for the Osun West Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming election, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, has vowed that he would never do anything to undermine the collective fortune of the party under which he is aspiring to go into the senate.

Ogunbiyi, who was speaking in his Ile-Ogbo, Aiyedire Local Government Council Area country home on Tuesday, said it was quite unfortunate that some undesirable political elements could go to such a ridiculous length to make a mince meat of a statement that was innocently made while consulting with his constituents on his aspiration.

He said, “I understand the concern of some of the genuine members and supporters of our dear party who initially felt aggrieved with the portion of the event, but outrightly shifted their position after they had listened to the full recorded video of the event.

“It doesn’t add up that I could choose an option of denigrating our party when it is obvious that its success at the state level is tied to my own political aspiration in the forthcoming series of elections in the state.

“As a complete party man who would never, no matter the circumstances, go against the directive of the revered authorities of our party from the unit, to the ward, to the Local Government, the state, geo-political and the national levels, it is unthinkable that the political lepers who are already down could think the development would be capable of launching them back relevance.

“I am not unaware of the fact that my surging political status has become a nightmare to my political opponents, which could be the only potent diabolical reason they engaged in the act of using a sledgehammer to kill an ant.

“Politics indeed is a dangerous vocation which some busy bodies deliberately use to bring down their fellow members of the party for them to fraudulently gain unmerited political advantages over stronger aspirants.

“My ever loyal supporters and I had embarked on a thorough investigation of the unfortunate incident, which is peculiar to any situation having to do with competition, and we were shell-shocked with the outcome of the investigation, as it was our collective conviction that if not for any unusual happening, fire can’t jump to the other side of the river.

“Further investigation revealed that the sponsors of the campaign of thlumny against my person took to their mischievous route to create a wedge between me and one of the hardest-working Presidents in the world, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the immediate-past governor of our state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and the governor-in-waiting, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, by the special grace of God, who is taking over from the visibly disillusioned Governor Ademola Adeleke through the 15th August, 2026 gubernatorial election.

“The demonic act of my political foes against my person, which has fallen flat as it lacks substance, would not prevent me from investing my best in all known constitutional ramifications to the re-election bid of President Tinubu and the forthcoming governorship election of my dear brother, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.

“Politics should not be a do-or-die affair whereby some scallywags who specialise in bring-Akin Ogunbiyi-down-syndrom in order to gain undue political advantage would fraudulently occupy the political theatre of my Senatorial District in particular and the state in general by spewing falsehoods and fabricated information.

“It was out of my volition that I decided to join the APC, and I have pledged my constant readiness to give my all for the upliftment of the fortune of the progressive party, the APC, at all its levels.”
