The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, Cornelius Ojelabi, has appealed to party members to maintain peace, discipline and orderliness during the party’s House of Representatives primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ojelabi, who also serves as chairman of the forum of APC state chairmen across the country, urged party faithful to conduct themselves responsibly as delegates and members participate in the exercise to elect candidates for the 24 federal constituencies in Lagos State.

He commended members of the party for their continued loyalty and contributions toward strengthening the APC in Lagos and across the country.

The APC chairman also encouraged party supporters to remain committed to the policies and programmes of the ruling party, describing their support as vital to democratic growth and political stability.

According to him, adequate security arrangements had already been put in place to ensure the safety of participants before, during and after the primaries.

“We assure our teeming supporters of their safety and security as they come out to vote in this historic primary election of our party, as everything that could impede their peace and progress has been taken care of,” he said.

Ojelabi further stated that the party had created a level-playing field for all aspirants participating in the exercise and assured members of equal opportunities throughout the process.

However, he warned against acts capable of causing unrest, intimidation or division within the party, stressing that the APC would not tolerate any form of violence or disruption during the primaries.

“We, therefore, warn mischief makers to have a rethink as we will not condone any act of sabotage,” he added.

The Lagos APC chairman also advised aspirants to caution their supporters against engaging in activities that could trigger violence or compromise the integrity of the exercise.

According to him, any aspirant linked to violence or disruption risks disciplinary measures from the party.

He noted that such sanctions could include suspension, disqualification from the contest or expulsion from the APC in line with the peace accord earlier signed by aspirants participating in the primaries.
