…Dismiss APC imposition claims
Elders and the All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders in Ikara Local Government Area of Kaduna State have declared total support for Governor Uba Sani, dismissing recent reports on Ikara politics as false and misleading.
The group, led by Prof. Dauda Ishaya, made the declaration at a media briefing in Kaduna on Monday, May 18.
They said the gathering was convened to reaffirm the loyalty of the Ikara people to the state government and to clear the air on what they called “unfounded narratives” circulating in the media.
“We are here purposely to indicate our profound gratitude and total support to the government of Uba Sani in Kaduna State and to the entire government of Kaduna State,” Ishaya said.
He said reports about affairs in Ikara LGA did not reflect the position of the people and called for a proper investigation to expose the truth behind the allegations. The group said it decided to speak publicly to prevent residents from being misled.
Ishaya commended the state government for projects in their area, citing the upgrade of Ikara General Hospital and interventions on rural water scarcity. He said the hospital had been transformed into a modern facility and that water shortages in rural communities had been resolved.
“Today, the issue of water scarcity in Ikara has become a thing of the past,” he stated.
The elders said unity among stakeholders reflected the cooperation between the government and the people of Ikara, and pledged continued support for ongoing developmental efforts.
The declaration comes after an aspirant from Ikara LGA recently condemned the state government over the alleged imposition of candidates in Zone 1, Kaduna North, at a separate press conference in Kaduna.
