APC Announces Winners Of Primary Elections


Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has heralded the names of winners of the just-concluded party’s primary elections across the seven federal constituencies of the state describing it as credible, grudge-free, and peaceful.

The Chairman of the party’s Committee of the National Assembly Primary Elections in the state, Dr Bello Maigari, made this announcement during a press briefing, emphasising that the party’s constitutional provisions were fully considered right from the ward, local government and state levels.

Dr Maigari further disclosed that the elections were duly and mutually carried out across the 14 Local Government Areas of the state that produced the party’s flag bearers to contest for the seven Federal constituencies only to wait for the general elections in 2027 should they scale through tribunals.

According to the results, Mohammed Ahmad Sani in Bakura/Maradun federal constituency, has polled 34,282 votes to defeat his opponent, while Aminu Sani Jaji of Birnin Magaji/Kaura Namoda federal constituency was declared the winner as he polled 37,064 votes to defeat two other contestants.

In the same vein, for the Gusau/Tsafe federal constituency, Kabiru Amadu has swept 85,723 votes to emerge a winner against the other six aspirants. Suleiman Abubakar was declared the winner for the Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal constituency after securing 39,299 votes, defeating his closest rival who polled 10 votes.

Also, the results for Shinkafi/Zurmi federal constituency, have featured Bello Hassan emerging unopposed with a total number of 23,007 votes to bag his candidacy, and Maru/Bungudu Federal Constituency, Abdulmalik Zubairu also ran unopposed and was successfully declared the winner with 46,077 votes.

Meanwhile, in Anka/Talata Mafara Federal Constituency, Isa Muhammad Anka emerged victorious with 35,189 votes, defeating two other contestants.

The committee expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the primaries across the seven federal constituencies of the state, describing the exercise as peaceful and in line with electoral guidelines.
