Obi Sympathises With Datti Baba-Ahmed Over Brother’s Death


A chieftain of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has expressed condolences to his former running mate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, following the death of his younger brother.

Obi, in a statement shared on his verified X handle on Friday, described the loss as painful and prayed for strength for the bereaved family.

“I deeply mourn with my dear younger brother Datti Baba-Ahmed over the passing of his beloved younger brother,” Obi wrote.

“My thoughts and earnest prayers are with him and the entire Baba-Ahmed family in this moment of grief.”

The former Anambra State governor also prayed for the repose of the deceased and asked Allah to comfort the grieving family.

“May Allah forgive his shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdaus, and give the family the strength and patience to bear this painful loss—inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un.

“May Allah comfort all who mourn and reward patience with peace. Indeed, Allah is the Best of planners,” he added.

The condolence message has drawn reactions from supporters and political associates who also extended prayers and sympathy to the Baba-Ahmed family following the bereavement.
