Mustafa Salihu Joins Adamawa Guber Race

Ahead of the 2027 general election, the immediate past North East National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Mustafa Salihu, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Adamawa State.

Comrade Salihu said he decided to formally respond to the clarion call of the electorate and to present himself to them, as well as unveil his campaign office and seek their support to enable him to win the election.

He acknowledged the privilege and honour of being recognised within the party and the opportunity to contest the election as somebody who is from a humble background and promised to consolidate on Fintiri’s achievements.

The governorship aspirant promised the people that if given the mandate to govern, he would serve the people with the fear of God and would continue to build on the legacy of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.

Salihu, who received a rousing welcome upon his arrival at the Lamido Aliyu Mustafa International Airport, Yola, later proceeded to his campaign office along Galadima Road, where he showcased his governorship nomination forms.

He urged party members to remain committed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and work towards its success in the forthcoming elections, both at the State and national levels.

While soliciting the support and backing for his governorship ambition, Comrade Mustapha called on party faithful to stay united and support the party’s administration at all levels.

Speaking earlier, the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, Mr Bathiya Wesley, noted that the legacy of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri requires a capable successor, describing Comrade Salihu as a suitable candidate for the position.

The event was attended by prominent political figures, including Senator Binta Masi Garba, a former member of the House of Representatives, Captain Yusuf Buba, and members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, as well as other party chieftains.
