I Lived With My Husband Four Months Before Marriage

Popular Nigerian skit maker and Nollywood actress, Oluwabukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, better known as KieKie, has claimed that, in a bid to avoid paying rent for an additional year, she lived with her spouse for four months before their wedding.

KieKie made this revelation in a recent interview on #TokeMoment podcast anchored by media Personality, Toke Makinwa.

According to the 35-year-old mother of one, the choice was made for practical reasons.

She added that they had already completed the customary ceremonies and were preparing for their January white wedding.

She claimed that instead of renewing her lease, she decided to move in with her spouse when her rent expired during that time.

KieKie claimed she wasn’t going to waste money, even though people would criticise the choice.

She claimed that she used to sing in church during that time and that the church was not aware of the arrangement at the time.

“Before my husband and I got married, we lived together for about four months. My rent had expired, and we were getting married in January, so I said to myself, ‘Why pay another rent?’

People might judge it, but I wasn’t going to waste money. We’d already done our introduction. The church didn’t know about it, and I used to sing in church at that time,” she remarked.
