The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has conferred its prestigious Fellowship on the Minister of State for Works, Bello Muhammad Goronyo, in recognition of his contributions to strategic communication, leadership, and national development.
The honour, bestowed on Thursday, is among the highest distinctions of the Institute, reserved for individuals who have demonstrated exceptional influence in advancing the ideals and professional standards of public relations.
According to a statement issued by the Minister’s media aide, Abdullahi Mohammed in Abuja on Friday, the conferment underscores Goronyo’s efforts in promoting transparency, strengthening government–citizen engagement, and institutionalising effective communication in the delivery of infrastructure and public service.
The statement noted that the Minister’s approach aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which emphasises inclusive governance, accountability, and sustainable national development, particularly in accelerating infrastructure growth across the country.
Goronyo was said to have consistently prioritised clear, proactive, and responsible communication in the execution of key infrastructure projects, a move that has enhanced public trust and improved stakeholder engagement nationwide.
He also urged the NIPR to leverage its institutional capacity to promote public awareness of government policies, programmes, and achievements, especially in the area of infrastructure development.
Describing the honour as both a recognition of service and a call to greater responsibility, the Minister reaffirmed his commitment to ethical and professional communication in governance, stressing its importance in building public confidence and sustaining development outcomes.
