Nigerian Afrobeats singer and son of Governor Ademola Adeleke, Adebayo Adeleke, popularly known as B-Red has reportedly escaped an assassination attempt in Osogbo. Osun State capital.
According to the Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, the event occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Oke-Fia, near the Government House.
In a statement released on Thursday, Alimi said that while the musician was travelling through the neighbourhood, thugs believed to be led by a man named Asiri Eniba attempted to attack him.
B-Red, who is also Davido’s cousin, clarified that the incident began while he was on his way back from Alekuwodo Market after making a few purchases.
He claimed that at a traffic intersection below Oke-Fia Bridge, he saw multiple professional motorcyclists wearing AMBO caps attempting to encircle his car.

“As I went out to buy some stuff around Alekuwodo market, I just saw some Okada riders with AMBO caps trying to surround my vehicle at a traffic point under Okefia Bridge.
“As we tried to move out, we saw a white Toyota Venza coming towards us with a shout of ‘it is him; It is him.”
He claimed that the pursuit began when a white Toyota Venza pulled up to his car and one of its occupants yelled, “It is him, it is him.”
According to B-Red, the car and the motorcyclists started pursuing him as he tried to escape the location, constantly attempting to obstruct his path and halt his movement.
He claimed that the chase went on through the streets until he was able to drive into the Osun State Government House at Oke-Fia, where he was secure.
“As we moved, the Toyota Venza pursued us, trying to block my jeep. At the same time, multiple motorcycles also joined in the chase. The chasing continued until we got to the gate of the Osun state Government House, Oke-fia.
During the chase, he claimed he was able to identify one of the people inside the Toyota Venza as Asiri Eniba, whom he described as a known APC thug.
“We identified one of the occupants of the vehicle to be Asiri Eniba, a notorious APC Thug “.
The state government said the matter had been reported to the police and described the development as a serious security threat.
Alimi called on security agencies to immediately arrest and prosecute those involved, insisting that the alleged attack should not be treated lightly.
