Gov Fintiri Unveils Grassroots Movement To Mobilize Votes For Tinubu

In an effort to mobilise support for President Ahmed Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri on Saturday unveiled a new grassroots political movement in Adamawa State.

The new grassroots movement known as “Adamawa Renewed Hope 226 Movement (ARH226M), with the Governor as the Patron, his Deputy as Chairman”, Fintiri said is an initiative designed to galvanise votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates.

Speaking to party supporters shortly after the state congress in Yola on Saturday, he declared that Adamawa is firmly under the control of the APC, following what he described as a sweeping political realignment that has reshaped party structures across the state.

“Fortunately, the APC is a party built on the tradition of mergers and alignments, so, when we decided to align, the party, willingly opened its arms to accommodate us because it is a very familiar move that is in conformity with its foundational culture” he explained.

Governor Fintiri emphasised further that the integration of defectors from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) marked the culmination of a rapid but “revealing” political shift.

According to him, with the culmination of this congress, we now have the new APC in Adamawa state, with structures and an executive council at the Ward, Local Government, and State levels.

What this means is that, besides meeting the constitutional requirement of the existence of structures, as a party, we have advanced beyond alignment to fusion.

The governor explained that the APC adjusted its internal processes to accommodate the influx of new members, including delaying its congress timetable in Adamawa to allow for negotiations and structural harmonisation.

Fintiri while declaring himself as the leader of the party observed that as politicians and Democrats, we have been pragmatic in making concessions as well as being objectively disposed to transparent engagement with citizens, stakeholders, interest groups and indeed the electorates.

The Governor used the occasion to warn that “those who hang around us for the sole purpose of political opportunism would certainly lose faith”.

While those who think that they are clever enough to compel endorsement by imposition will naturally give way to serious hardworking politicians in search of fair playing platforms like what we have in the APC at the moment.

Meanwhile, Hamza Madagali and Mustapha Atiku Ribadu have been elected as Chairman and Secretary respectively following a consensus arrangement adopted by party stakeholders.

‎Madagali, who until recently served as chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State is a close ally of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.

‎His emergence as the APC chairman signals a strategic realignment within the state’s political landscape.
