The Federal Government’s ICT infrastructure provider, Galaxy Backbone Limited, has partnered with Simba Infrastructure Limited to expand the deployment of unified communications and call centre solutions across Nigeria, with a focus on driving adoption in both the public and private sectors.
The partnership, announced in a statement issued on Tuesday, is expected to leverage Galaxy Backbone’s nationwide digital infrastructure and Simba Infrastructure’s expertise in communications technology to deliver locally hosted communication services to businesses and government institutions.
According to the statement, the collaboration will provide Hosted Unified Communications and Hosted Call Centre Solutions to improve how organisations engage with customers and citizens while strengthening data security and operational efficiency.
It noted that the alliance combines Simba Infrastructure’s capabilities in converged communications technologies, systems integration, and private-sector engagement with Galaxy Backbone’s data centre infrastructure and fibre-optic network covering 30 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
“Together, both organisations will deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective communication solutions designed to transform how businesses and government institutions engage with customers and citizens,” the statement read.
The partners said the arrangement would see Simba Infrastructure spearhead business development activities within the private sector, offering customised Unified Communications and Call Centre services tailored to enterprise requirements.
Galaxy Backbone, on its part, will focus on driving adoption within government institutions by providing secure, locally hosted data centre services intended to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, reliability, and operational efficiency.
Commenting on the partnership, Director at Simba Infrastructure, Sanjay Vaswani, said the company viewed the collaboration as the foundation for broader technology deployment initiatives in the country.
“Simba is pleased to mark this first phase of collaboration, with a long-term vision of deploying fully localised, AI-driven technologies that enable developers to build and scale using naira-based solutions,” Vaswani said.
Also speaking, Profit Centre Head at Simba Infrastructure, Aminu Usman, described the agreement as a major step in the company’s efforts to deliver cloud-based communication services to Nigerian organisations.
“Partnering with Galaxy Backbone marks a significant milestone in our mission to deliver innovative, cloud-based communication solutions to Nigerian organisations. By combining Galaxy Backbone’s robust infrastructure and strong public sector presence with Simba’s customer-centric approach and technological expertise, we are creating a powerful platform to drive digital transformation and business growth,” Usman said.
The General Manager, Strategic Partnerships and Regional Business at Galaxy Backbone, Abdul-Malik Suleiman, said the partnership aligned with the organisation’s commitment to expanding access to secure and reliable digital services across the country.
“Galaxy Backbone remains committed to advancing digital inclusion, secure communication, and reliable ICT services across Nigeria. Our partnership with Simba Infrastructure strengthens our ability to deliver innovative, locally hosted Unified Communications and Call Centre solutions that will benefit both public and private sector organisations,” Suleiman stated.
The statement added that the partnership reflects the two organisations’ commitment to supporting Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda through enhanced communication platforms, improved collaboration tools, and locally hosted digital services.
It stated that the initiative would help organisations improve customer experience and operational effectiveness while ensuring that critical information and data remain securely hosted within Nigeria.
Galaxy Backbone serves as the Federal Government’s shared ICT infrastructure provider, offering cloud hosting, connectivity, data centre services, and digital solutions to public institutions and businesses, while Simba Infrastructure specialises in customer experience technologies, contact centre systems, artificial intelligence-enabled services, and enterprise digital transformation solutions.
