Fernández Header Sends Chelsea Into FA Cup Final

Chelsea booked their place in the FA Cup final with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leeds United at Wembley Stadium, as captain Enzo Fernández scored the decisive first-half goal.

Sunday Telegraph reports that under interim boss Calum McFarlane, Chelsea looked more organised and determined, putting recent struggles behind them to deliver a disciplined performance and set up a May 16 clash with Manchester City.

Leeds threatened early when Brenden Aaronson raced through on a pass from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, but Robert Sánchez produced a fine save.

Chelsea responded through João Pedro, whose effort struck the post, before taking the lead in the 23rd minute. After Pascal Struijk lost possession, Pedro Neto delivered a precise cross that Fernández headed past Lucas Perri.

Leeds improved after the break, with Daniel Farke introducing Anton Stach and Joe Rodon, but they could not find a way through Chelsea’s defence. Sánchez remained solid in goal, while late efforts, including a header from Ethan Ampadu, failed to trouble the Blues.

Chelsea held firm to secure a narrow win and keep their hopes of silverware alive, while Leeds’ bid to reach a first FA Cup final since 1973 came to an end.
