Female Broadcaster, Odochi Picks PDP Aba Central Ticket

An Aba-based veteran broadcaster, Mrs Anastacia Odochi Uchenna, on Friday, emerged the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Aba Central consensus candidate for the Abia State House of Assembly 2027 election.

New Telegraph reports that she emerged as the consensus candidate during the party primary election that took place at the Mbieri Development Town Union Hall, Aba.

Mr Chinweizu Ahuama, the electoral returning officer, while declaring Odochi the winner, said the candidate satisfied the constitution of the party and that of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the elective position.

Assisted by Mr Ugochukwu Jumbo, Ahuama declared the result in the presence of the INEC representative, Mr Chidiebere Mark, who observed the entire process.

“Having satisfied the requirements of the party and INEC constitution, I declared you the winner to contest for Aba Central Constituency under the platform of the PDP,” the returning officer said.

Responding, the candidate, Mrs Odochi, thanked the party faithful for the trust bestowed on her and promised never to disappoint them.

“This is the new PDP, and I know that it is not yet over until it is over. I know the game; the difference is that I have not been an active player. I have watched, studied and learnt, and for giving me your trust, I want to assure you that I will represent the party well. My candidacy is going to affirm that what we have is a new PDP coming on board,” she said.

She assured her constituents that her voice will be heard loudly and that she will give them the much-needed quality and impactful representation.
