BUA Cement Backs NYSC Corps Members With Better Welfare

The management of BUA Cement Plc has assured the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Sokoto State, of improved welfare support and the retention of outstanding corps members who exhibit excellence during their service year.

The Corporate Manager, Alhaji Sada Suleiman, and the Director of Human Resource Management, Abdulrasheed Bode, assured the State Coordinator of the company’s continued support.

The Cement company said its requests would be carefully and judiciously considered.

On corps members’ welfare, the management pledged to enhance its support, adding that the company has a policy of retaining outstanding corps members who distinguish themselves during their service year.

Earlier, the NYSC State Coordinator, Mr Tyoyer Gabriel Ter, said the visit was part of his familiarisation tour to meet key stakeholders of the NYSC scheme in Sokoto State.

Mr Gabriel Ter visited BUA Cement Plc to discuss ways of strengthening the existing cordial relationship between the company and the scheme.

In his remarks, Mr Tyoyer expressed appreciation for the warm reception and for granting him an audience. He described the company as a vital stakeholder and one of the leading employers of corps members in the state.

The Coordinator noted that since assuming office, he has received positive reports on the company’s treatment of corps members, highlighting that they are treated with dignity and respect — an effort he described as highly commendable.

He used the opportunity to appeal to the company’s management for additional support to enhance NYSC activities in the state.

While acknowledging past contributions such as donations of cement, chairs, and financial support to previous administrations, he requested further assistance.

These include additional donations of chairs and approval for the NYSC to purchase cement directly whenever needed for project execution.
