AK Botanicals Appoints Augustine Okpe as Vice President

A United States-based skincare manufacturing firm, AK Botanicals, has appointed Augustine Okpe as Vice President, International Business Development, as part of its push into African and European markets.

In a statement, the company said the appointment would strengthen its global expansion strategy, with Okpe expected to spearhead entry into the regions next month through acquisitions, partnerships and distribution agreements.

AK Botanicals noted that the move aligns with its broader plan to position itself as a major player in the global dermatology and skincare manufacturing space, particularly in emerging markets where demand for high-quality skincare products is rising.

Speaking during his acceptance, Okpe highlighted the role of digital platforms in overcoming market access barriers.

“Proximity is an illusion. With social media footprints, you can be anywhere, even in a market demand matrix or close to any market by default. Through demand-pull initiatives, you can find yourself in a battlefield, selling bandages in real time,” he said.

The firm added that Okpe would also focus on building efficient distribution networks and improving product accessibility in underserved markets.

“My core focus at this moment is to get our products to those who need them. There will be a ripple effect once the first wave of users experiences the quality of our products,” he added.

According to the firm, Okpe brings experience spanning construction, real estate and logistics to the role, having led ventures such as Empire Monuments and Empire Realties.

The company said his multi-sectoral expertise and track record in infrastructure development across West Africa would support its ambition to scale operations and deepen its presence in new markets.

It added that Okpe’s appointment reinforces his growing profile as a strategic business leader with cross-industry influence.
