Abia APC Frustrated By Otti’s Refusal To Join Them – LP

Labour Party (LP) Abia State Chapter has urged the Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) not to allow the refusal of the state governor, Dr Alex Otti, to join their party to elevate their frustration to hatred.

Mazi Chidiebere Okoro, State Publicity Secretary for the Labour Party, said that “it’s understandable if Abia APC is angry and frustrated by the refusal of Governor Otti to join their party, a development they hoped would have helped them reap some political gains in the 2027 elections, but such anger and frustration shouldn’t be elevated to hate and rascality.”

LP said that it has noted with dismay the attempt by what it called ‘the unpopular’ Abia State APC leadership to reduce opposition to an expensive prank, where, though the pranksters seek to entertain their audience, they do so in a manner that’s both disgusting and dangerous.

LP accused the current APC leadership in Abia of trying to cause a misunderstanding between Otti and the federal government, but stressed that whatever regard, recognition and respect Governor Otti enjoys from the federal government and the presidency is predicated on his accomplishments, comportment, personality and performance.

“Hence, the anger-induced reckless tantrums and opprobrious inactions of a tiny faction of the Abia APC would continue to have zero negative impact on Governor Otti and his government,” LP said.

LP said it is smart enough to deduce the real agenda of the present Abia APC leadership, which is to extort party members, especially aspirants and candidates, while positioning themselves to grab campaign funds that would come from the national leadership of the party.

“They are not working to win any governorship election, because they know that they neither have the support base, the structure, nor the scorecard to win.

As a prelude to “winning” Abia in their dream, the leadership of Abia APC is enjoined to stop being cowardly and desist from the nauseating noise about 2027.

“Let the man who thinks himself a field marshal declare it so that the debate, the scrutiny and the assessment can commence before the real battle,” LP said.

LP claimed that from the outset, there was no doubt that Abia State APC picked a group of notorious characters who are not only desperate for relevance and economic survival but determined to do so in the most irresponsible manner, at the expense of the state.

“In the last few weeks, the Party has been churning out all kinds of propaganda and hogwash as press releases; however, investigation has revealed that these releases do not reflect the views and do not enjoy the endorsement of responsible APC members and leaders in Abia and beyond. They are the filthy tantrums of a group of notorious power mongers who found themselves in leadership and lost their sanity,” Okoro said.

LP urged Abia people to disregard whatever emanates from the leadership of Abia APC, stressing that the majority of the people running the affairs of the party in Abia are unstable and unfit to run the affairs of any decent institution.

It further went personal at the Chairman of Abia APC, Chijioke Chukwu, saying it foresees him as one “whose governorship candidate is going to record the worst governorship outing for the APC since the return of democracy.”

LP expressed its unalloyed support for Governor Alex Otti for what it termed his giant strides in governance, which have seen Abia experience visible transformation in many areas.
