The Senator representing Jigawa North East Senatorial District, Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori, has pledged his unflinching support for President Bola Tinubu’s administration and the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leadership, for the good governance being delivered to the people of Nigeria and Jigawa North East Senatorial District in particular.
According to a statement from his National Assembly media office on Friday, Malam Madori also expressed gratitude to party stakeholders, delegates and supporters across the North East Senatorial District for the confidence reposed in him by granting him a return ticket for the 2027 senatorial election.
Madori, who is the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, secured affirmation at the APC primary, held in Hadejia, the senatorial headquarters, with party leaders, stakeholders and hundreds of supporters in attendance.
His return ticket came after the withdrawal of three major challengers: retired Comptroller-General of Immigration Muhammad Babandede, Barrister Sani Garin Gabas, and Pharmacist Ubali Hashim.
The affirmation was conducted by the APC Primary Election Committee chairman from Sokoto State and witnessed by the APC Zonal Vice Chairman in Jigawa, Hon. Muhammad Umar Dikkuma, and State Vice Chairman, Hon. Nasiru Jahun.
If he wins in 2027, Madori will head back to the Red Chamber for a second term.
Speaking after his affirmation, Madori thanked party elders, delegates and supporters for the trust reposed in him and pledged total loyalty to President Bola Tinubu and the APC.
“I want to thank our party elders and executives in Jigawa North East Senatorial District for their unwavering support. I will continue to promote their interests at all times,” he said.
“We shall continue to work together to heal divisions within the party and strengthen our collective resolve towards delivering good governance to our people.”
The Senator singled out Governor Umar Namadi for praise, crediting the governor’s “leadership, encouragement and political guidance” for the smooth consensus arrangement.
He also hailed APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, represented by Hon. Achidi, and Jigawa APC Chairman Hon. Ahmad Garba, represented by Hon. Nasiru Jahun, for ensuring a transparent and peaceful exercise.
In a related development, Madori’s Constituency Programs Coordinating Committee wasted no time celebrating his victory.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Hon. Adamu Ibrahim Gira, the Committee described the affirmation as “well-deserved” and a reflection of the trust the party has in him.
“To the affirmed candidate, we encourage you to embrace the opportunity to serve all citizens of Jigawa North East. This victory is a call for unity, and I believe you have the vision and capability to deliver another start that the people are yearning for,” Gira said.
“The hopes and dreams of your constituents remain as it was before in your hands, and we are confident you will rise to meet their expectations.”
The Committee also commended Governor Namadi and party executives for their “commitment to a fair electoral process” and praised APC leaders and members in Hadejia for their “tireless efforts. Together, let’s continue to strive for a brighter future of Hadejia and Jigawa State,” the statement read.
The Programs Committee dismissed earlier reports in some media platforms about what it described as Madori’s imaginary disqualification as an error, insisting the affirmation in Hadejia has settled all doubts.
The Committee urged journalists to always painstakingly go through information at their disposal, to ensure that they have accurate facts before going to the press, to avoid misinforming the public.
Party faithful at the event cheered as Madori called on APC members to stay united ahead of 2027, describing the party as “one political family.”
He thanked the screening and election committees, party executives, local government chairmen and women leaders for their roles in the primary’s success.
Madori pledged to keep working with party leaders and constituents to deepen unity within the APC and provide “quality legislation and good governance for the people of Jigawa State and Nigeria at large.”
