Nigerian Afrobeats singer and elder sister to Teni, Niniola Apata has announced the death of her husband, Michael Ndika.
The well-known artist shared the news in a series of emotional Instagram posts on Wednesday, May 20.
Ndika was the Chief Executive Officer of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform that covers contemporary African and Afro-house music.

“God took him,” Niniola wrote in her first post. “My husband died,” she added in a second. A third post read: “God took him. 13 years. 13 f_ing years.”
Each post included a photo of the couple together. The circumstances of his death were not disclosed.
Niniola has largely kept her private life out of the public eye and off social media. She rose to prominence as a top contestant on Project Fame West Africa in 2013.
