2027: Hamzat Submits Nomination Forms


Lagos State deputy governor,  Obafemi Hamzat has submitted his expression of interest and nomination forms for the 2027 governorship election in the state.

Hamzat announced the development on Thursday in a statement where he described his ambition as a continuation of service, responsibility, and commitment to building a greater Lagos.

According to him, the decision to contest is driven by a desire to sustain progress while addressing areas that still require improvement across the state.

“This journey is about service, responsibility, and building a Lagos that works better for every family, every business, and every person that calls this state home,” the deputy governor said.

He added that he is stepping into the race with experience, purpose, and strong belief in the future of Lagos State.

It will be recalled that his ambition earlier received a major boost from the highest decision-making body in Lagos politics, the Lagos Governance Advisory Council (GAC), as well as President Bola Tinubu and incumbent Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
