Ex AGF, Aondoakaa Picks Nomination Forms For Benue Gov’ship Race

Former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice (SAN), Chief Michael Kaase Aondoakaa, on Monday picked his Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms to contest the governorship seat against the incumbent Governor, Hyacinth Alia.

Speaking to journalists after picking the forms at PDP’s secretariat in Makurdi, Chief Aondoakaa said if elected, he would stop at nothing to ensure the return of enduring peace in the state as well as protect the lives and property of people.

The governorship hopeful lamented the worsening insecurity situation in Benue, regretted the intractable herders/farmers conflicts, which have led to massive displacement of the farming population.

He said if he becomes governor, he would work hard to discourage the issue of farmers staying in IDP camps, but ensure they go back to their ancestral homes to continue with normal farming activities to feed their families.

Chief Aondoakaa also promised to boost industrialisation for the economic development of the state by inviting indigenous investors to invest in the Mbatiav cement project in the state, and to further ensure that the people get employment.

He vowed to work closely with traditional rulers to boost cultural linkages with neighbouring states, including Nasarawa, Taraba and Cross River, while youths will have a place in his administration to contribute their quota for the development of the state.
