Oluwo described the road approval as a personal relief to him. He disclosed that his intervention reopened the 10-year-abandoned Iwo-Osogbo axis of the road.

A statement released by Oluwo and made available to newsmen through his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem, reads, “Osogbo-Iwo axis of Osogbo-Iwo-Ibadan road has been abandoned for almost 10 years before my ascension to the throne in 2015.

“Upon my enthronement, I cleared the bushy sections, mobilised materials, including cement, and rehabilitated the dilapidated road. I used to resume on the road at 8am. and close by 6 pm every day. This procedure was a routine exercise for almost four months until the road was reopened. ” I have equally intervened on the Iwo-Ibadan road. sometimes, in 2018, when it was nearly unpassable.

“I specifically appreciate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the road for full reconstruction. The President has given us part of our dividends of his administrative democracy. On behalf of over 35 royal fathers under my domain, socio elite and socio cultural groups, artisans, and all of us, we say, thank you, Mr President. We reaffirmed our full support first to your re-election bid because we have strong hope that we will get more dividends. You have heard us, and we will reward you with our votes.

“I extend my special appreciation to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Isiaq Gboyega Oyetola. I have requested the road reconstruction since he was the governor of Osun State. And he promised me. Today, through his intervention, the pledge is fulfilled.

“The road is crucial to improving the economic and commercial activities of Iwoland. The stress associated with transporting goods will be a thing of the past when the road is fully reconstructed. ”

“The road will further lubricate the existing bilateral relationship between Osun and Oyo States. To me, it’s a personal relief because I used to patch some dilapidated sections at every yuletide season to avoid inconveniencing my subjects who come home en masse for Ileya and Christmas celebrations”.
