Disu Visits Family Of Slain Police Officer, Alfred, Assures Continued Support


The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has paid a condolence visit to the family of late ASP Ejeh Alfred, who died in the line of duty, reaffirming the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to the welfare of fallen officers’ families.

During the visit on Thursday, April 30, 2026, in Abuja, the IGP expressed deep sympathy to the widow, Mrs. Mercy Ejeh, her children, and the extended family. He described the late officer, a driver with the Police Airwing, as a dedicated professional whose sacrifice will not be forgotten.

ASP Ejeh Alfred lost his life on April 17, 2026, during an operational mission, highlighting the risks faced daily by officers in the line of duty.

IGP Disu assured the family that the Force would continue to support them, stressing that the welfare and legacy of officers who make the ultimate sacrifice remain a top priority.

He also reiterated his commitment to improving the welfare of police personnel, noting that their courage and dedication are critical to maintaining national security.

The police chief prayed for the repose of the late officer’s soul and pledged that the Force would stand firmly by the bereaved family in their time of grief.
