Shallipopi To Perform At 10th Coronation Anniversary Of Oba Of Benin

Nigerian singer, rapper, and songwriter, Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, is billed to perform at the 10th Coronation anniversary of the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, billed for October 2026.

Ewuare II made this announcement on Monday, while offering prayer and best wishes to the afrobeats singer, renowned for promoting Benin culture during his visit to the Oba Palace in Benin City.

The Oba acknowledged the effort of the singer for his role in promoting the cultural heritage of the Benin people, adding that some Shallipopi fans are also in his palace.

According to the Oba, “By the authority of all my ancestors and the power of almighty God, please do not let us down. We thank God for not letting us down.

This son is in our palace; we shall continually commit you to our prayers because of the way you are promoting Edo culture all over the world. Those who are bent on rubbishing Edo will have our ancestors to contend with”, he said.

The music star rode on the energy of rare hospitality, alongside Jerry Dl and famous Pluto brothers and family members during his visit, where he emblazoned his signature on Benin infant Prince, Idugbowa Ewuare’s shirt, after paying respect to the Benin throne.

A cappella performance in one of Shallipopi’s hit tracks, ‘Lahor’, turned into a sung-along as excited royal fans craved for more, after the guests were earlier entertained with the ancient Benin dance’ by prominent Benin Chiefs and Royal drummers in the palace, where the Oba taunted Shallipopi, saying, “You have your fans in my palace”.
