Indications have emerged that the Kwara State All Progressives Congress (APC) would employ consensus arrangements to produce its candidates for the 2027 general election.
Speaking during the visit of an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat for the Oke Ero/Isin/Ifelodun federal constituency, Mrs. Florence Oyeyemi, the State Chairman of the APC, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, said the party would streamline the number of aspirants for various political positions to have a united family.
Fagbemi, who described the APC as a single family, said that the party’s leadership would remove all variables that could cause ripples before, during and after the general elections.
He assured that the party would be fair to all concerned during the process, irrespective of age, gender or religion, adding that the process would be made easy by the time it is concluded.
“I pray we’re not going to go through rancorous primaries, but the party would come up with a guideline in due course. So, we’ll be able to streamline and choose among the contestants. I want you to realise one thing. You should not make this a door-die affair.
“APC is a single family. We don’t want any situation that will tear us apart. You can see that from the Ward, local government, senatorial, states and geopolitical zones we did our congresses peacefully, and finally we did well at the National Convention. “That’s the spirit I want every one to carry along.
So that by the time we choose, it will be easy for us. One thing I want you to know is that we’ll be fair to all, irrespective of gender, religion or age”, he said.
