Seaman’s Schnapps has reaffirmed its commitment to culture following its feature as the official prayer drink of the 39th Lisabi Festival held in Abeokuta, Ogun State, in honour of Lisabi Agbongbo Akala.
The festival drew Egba indigenes from across Nigeria and the diaspora to celebrate heritage, unity and identity, while also promoting youth empowerment through its theme, ‘Integrating Apprenticeship Training into Education: Opportunities and Challenges.’
According to a statement, throughout the event, Seaman’s Schnapps featured prominently in key ceremonial rites, underscoring its traditional role in prayers, blessings and ancestral reverence within Yoruba culture.
The Marketing Manager of Nigeria Distilleries Limited, Gbemileke Lawal, said, “The Lisabi Festival is more than a cultural gathering; it is a living expression of Egba pride, resilience and values.
Seaman’s Schnapps is honoured to serve as the official prayer drink, reflecting our enduring commitment to tradition, respect and cultural continuity.”
Also, the Senior Brand Manager of Seaman’s Schnapps, Nnenna Onyenacho, said, “This festival represents a powerful connection between heritage and the future. Seaman’s Schnapps is proud to stand with the Egba people, supporting a celebration that preserves culture while inspiring a new generation.”
The grand finale featured entertainment by notable Egba figures, including actor Muyiwa Ademola, musician Shina Peters, actor Yemi Solade and Fuji artiste Sule Malaika.
Dignitaries and indigenes paid homage to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, highlighting the festival’s significance as a unifying platform.
At the festival grounds, Seaman’s Schnapps hosted interactive brand activations that attracted large crowds, while Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson, dressed in branded attire, engaged attendees and heightened excitement.
The event attracted thousands of participants, further cementing the Lisabi Festival’s status as a major cultural tourism attraction. Organisers said the brand remains committed to sustaining its role in preserving tradition and promoting values that unite communities.
