Also, the IGP stressed the need for a stronger symbiotic relationship between both agencies, identifying key areas of collaboration to include election security, counter-terrorism, VIP protection, cybercrime prevention, and tackling economic sabotage.

He also called for enhanced intelligence sharing and joint training initiatives aimed at strengthening operational effectiveness across both institutions.

In his response, the Director-General of the DSS commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing IGP Disu, noting his experience and commitment to service.

He further praised the Federal Government’s ongoing support for the Nigeria Police, particularly in the renovation of training institutions nationwide, which he said would improve capacity building within the Force.

Reaffirming the agency’s position, the DG assured continued intelligence sharing and joint operations with the Nigeria Police, describing the collaboration as a “priceless national asset” in the fight against insecurity.

Both leaders reiterated their commitment to deepening cooperation, enhancing intelligence collaboration, and promoting institutional harmony in order to strengthen Nigeria’s overall security framework.
